Invisible braces, also known as clear aligners, are an orthodontic treatment used to straighten teeth. They are 3D-printed clear plastic retainers which are worn constantly, except when eating and drinking (water is fine).
The benefit of clear aligners is they remove the bulk of traditional metal braces, they are transparent and contoured specifically to your teeth. They are thin enough not to be noticed in normal conversation and photos.
As these aligners are designed to be worn all day and night for best results, they are most appropriate for adults, who are more likely to ensure they remain on. If not worn as prescribed, they will not produce the desired results.
The trade-off for being nearly invisible is that the force applied by clear aligners on teeth is different to that of traditional metal braces. They are mostly used for correcting minor issues, such as mildly crooked, protruding or gappy teeth. They aren’t always an appropriate dental treatment for fixing bigger orthodontic issues such as a substantial overbite.

At your second appointment we take 3D digital scans of your mouth. These scans are used to create your custom invisible braces, they’re also kept as record to monitor the movement of your teeth throughout the course of treatment.
Your dentist will then do a thorough examination of the digital scans, and design a plan specifically tailored to your teeth.
Once your invisible braces are ready we’ll get you back into the clinic to go over everything you need to know about using and maintaining your aligners at home. Then you’re good to start!
While it is extremely important your clear braces be worn continuously day and night, there are a few occasions when you’ll need to remove them.

We all want straight teeth and a smile to be proud of, but we don’t want the bulky metal of traditional braces. Clear aligners are not only transparent, but they’re contoured to your teeth so that they are barely noticeable during conversation or when smiling.
Oral hygiene is easy with invisible braces. Simply pop them out and brush and floss as normal, then put them back in. As long as you wear your invisible braces at least 22 hours a day, you will achieve the desired results.
